Widely used in the 1930s and 40s, they are still desired and in use by traditional boatbuilders today. Frearson screws contain a cross recess similar to the Phillips minus the cam out angles incorporated for automated assembly and have a sharper angle. As they age, a natural patina forms which dulls the shine and tends to blend in with certain stains producing a look preferred by many.

The standard list of customization options continues to expand. Current features available include a variety of stain choices (both main and accent), wood species selection, flush or recessed bar tops, port & starboard designs, wine rack, stemware holders, shelves, locking liquor cabinet, ball bearing sliding drawer, dry sink / fruit pan, bottle wells and more.
