PRLog (Press Release) – Sep 16, 2009 – WHAT:

Watters Creek Fine Arts Festival in partnership with the Allen Arts Alliance, returns this fall with a juried selection of outstanding fine arts and crafts along with children’s interactive art activities, face painting and live entertainment.

Highlights of the festival include tented artists booths lining Village Green Drive, which feature gallery-quality work from local artists displaying and selling a variety of styles and mediums, including paintings, photography, jewelry, sculpture, glass, clay, metal, digital art, mixed media and other works of art.

The Allen High Noon Lions Club is holding their 2009 Duck Derby during the Watters Creek Fine Arts Festival.  Contestants adopt a numbered duck(s) with adoption packages ranging from $5 to $300, which can by purchased online at www.watterscreek.com.  Two thousand numbered plastic ducks will be placed into the Watters Creek waterway.  The first ten ducks to cross the finish line during the race on October 11 will become “Lucky Duck Finalists”.  If a finalist’s number matches the grand prize number, that finalist wins $50,000 as the AFLAC Lucky Duck.  Contestants have a chance to win additional prizes.  Proceeds from the Duck Derby will be used to fund local charitable activities of the Allen High Noon Lions Club and Lions Club International.  Need not be present to win. (Visit www.watterscreek.com for official rules and regulations.)

The three-day outdoor festival is being held at Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm, a mixed-use retail, restaurant, residential and office development featuring a resort-style design that includes water views, lush landscaping and green expanses of lawn, providing an inviting backdrop for the displayed art and live entertainment.
