Feb 25, 2010 – Checkered Flag VW in Virginia announces the return of the Volkswagen GTI. The beloved hatchback was dubbed the first ‘hot hatch’ when Volkswagen made driving a hatchback the fun and in-style thing to do.
The iconic Volkswagen GTI is now in its sixth generation and still living up to the original's sporting intentions. Available as a two-door of four-door, the GTI offers something for everyone. An extensive list of standard equipment is included, features such as well-bolstered cloth sport seats with plaid inserts, halogen fog lamps, alloy pedals, SIRIUS satellite radio, 17-inch performance tires on alloy wheels, sport suspension, six airbags, tire pressure monitoring, an 8-speaker touch-screen audio system, Bluetooth and a multi-function leather steering wheel.
The 2010 VW GTI still retains is capable powertrain and overall size, but consumers will notice that its been attractively redesigned inside and out. Fuel economy has been bumped up to an estimated 21/31 MPG city/highway and the color palate has been expanded to include Volkswagen’s fun shades like Tornado Red and Shadow Blue Metallic.
