OBERON MALL, the Biggest ‘shoppertainment’ Destination in Kerala is Celebrating its First Anniversary
Kochi, February 27, 2010:
Oberon Mall, the largest lifestyle mall in Kerala, at Edappalli in Kochi completes the first year of its successful functioning. As Oberon Mall enters its second year, the first multiplex theatre complex in the state is expected to be thrown open soon for its patrons.
As part of its expansion plans, the management has planned many other novel concepts to the Kochiites and tourists visiting Oberon. Spice Route, an opulent Indo–Arabic Restaurant and Grill is another major plan for the Mall. Spice Route will serve classical cuisines from the Malabar Coast and popular dishes from the Arabian countries, Nizami and Lavent. Located on the 4th floor of Oberon Mall, the 4,000 sq.ft. restaurant is designed to offer the best dining experience in the State, once functional.
As part of the anniversary, an eight-day cultural extravaganza, filled with fun and frolic, will be organized from February 28 to March 7, 2010 by IX-Chel, the creative solutions team, a wing of the Harsons India Group. From daily laser shows to innovative dances, folk forms from other countries, Oberon Celebrations will be a unique fiesta for patrons, visitors and tourists.
The shows will start in the afternoon everyday from 2 pm till 8 pm daily in the Mall Atrium. Human Tunnel, the special Harsons Green Man laser show, European dancer, Crystal Ball Show, Fire Show are some of the highlights of the entertainment programmes organized by Ix-Chel.
Oberon Mall was opened as a complete destination to enhance “shopping tourism”, a year ago by the Oberon Group of Companies, India. Designed and functioning with world class shopping facilities, the Mall provided year long entertainment and shopping experience through the various cultural galas and festivities on regular occasions.
Located on the NH by pass, just a kilometer from the Edapally Junction, Oberon Mall has an area of 350,000 sq ft built in about two acres of land. The fully air-conditioned and 100 per cent power backed building is spread across five floors.
The Mall houses Anchor Shops, Branded Showrooms, Cricket Zone, Scary House, Mirror Maze, the Multiplex, Food Courts and the Gaming zone, all create the feel good factor and entertain the visitors as well. At present, the average footfall is more than 10,000. During weekends and holidays, the footfall is more than 20,000.
In view of the large number visitors, especially during the weekends and holidays, Oberon Mall has added two open ground parking for its customers. Keeping in mind the convenience of the customers parking at the open ground, the mall management is planning to open a Northern side entry to the Mall.
